In this project, I explored what it’d be like to e the visual development artist tasked with reimagining an older story. For this, I chose to do Little Red Riding hood. I really enjoyed making different variations of the characters, exploring expressions and poses, making a Key art illustration and going into detail on some of the props.
Little Red Riding Hood is a fairytale that has always stuck with me. Its a cautionary tale to children and adults alike about the dangers of strangers and being overly trusting with people you don’t really know. The big bad wolf can represent someone’s ill intentions, even though they appear to be a well-mannered person. In my take, I wanted to grasp the innocence of Little Red Riding Hood, The deviousness of the wolf, the bravery of the woodsman, and the gentleness of Grandma.
